Working outdoors in the Spring-time is an unpredictable challenge that many professionals face every year. Weather patterns and trends are never guaranteed and have the potential to disrupt, or in some cases, damage work that has been recently undertaken. That’s why tesa’s Precision Mask® Outdoor range was developed. The company not only understands, but responds to the professionals’ need for quality in all conditions, temperatures and environments.
tesa® 4440 Precision Mask® Outdoor is a high-grade paper masking tape for precise and flat paint edges outdoors. It consists of an extra-thin and strong washi paper backing coated with an acrylic adhesive. It is especially designed to suit a variety of outdoor applications on different kinds of surfaces; from protecting PVC windows to masking lights in preparation of painting concrete surfaces. The thin but resistant backing material is highly conformable and leads to flat, precise, razor sharp paint edges. No paint bleed, no unsightly residues, just the performance values the tesa range delivers on.
The adhesive compound and backing material mean these tapes are not only extremely precise, they are also particularly weatherproof and both humidity and UV-resistant. The combination of waterproof functionality and tear-proof, highly equipped backing results in a product that remains stable for a long time in all weathers; allowing for easy removability up to 26 weeks after application outdoors. This also enables multiple working processes in only one covering process.
Made from a pressure-sensitive adhesive, these tapes need to be pressed firmly onto the substrate to get the optimum masking result. For secure adhesion, the substrate should be free from grease, dust, moisture and other traces of residues.
Painting and decorating professionals are expected to produce perfect results quickly all year-round, without the risk of having to redo work – which costs time and money. Using inferior or general masking tapes is a false economy. Using the wrong tape for the job can have expensive repercussions and, besides flawless paint edges, it’s the reliability and performance of products appropriate to relevant conditions that provides a valuable advantage.
Many professionals use tesa® Precision Mask® Outdoor on paint jobs outdoors, light plasterwork tasks, projects requiring sharp paint edges and for use on rough surfaces. These tapes are applicable with all common kinds of paints and lacquers and fits even for the masking of surfaces during light spatula works.
Donna Smith, Trade Marketing Manager, tesa UK, says “These tapes are a reliable partner for painting work of all kinds and, combined with sound workmanship, will return excellent results. One product cannot satisfy every requirement, so consideration must be given to the type of job in hand. For exterior jobs, it’s important to use UV stable outdoor masking tape, especially if the tape is to be left in place for long periods of time. General Purpose masking tapes will be affected by sunlight after only a few hours and will leave residues on removal. tesa® 4440 Precision Mask Outdoor has been designed specifically with this in mind”.
Whether for masking and protection of surfaces indoors or outside, for repairs and maintenance or during renovations, tesa offers a range of high-quality adhesive tapes for the many different requirements of professionals. tesa masking tapes have application icons on the product label to help the user identify the application it’s meant for. tesa offers masking tapes for the full range of applications, including: tesa® 4333 Precision Mask® Sensitive and tesa® Precision Mask® Indoor.
