Trade Decorator’s Project of the Month: Ian Scott’s Mastery in Cheshire Bungalow Transformation with Carnival Interiors

In this month’s Trade Decorator Project of the Month, Ian Scott Decorating Services takes centre stage with a stunning transformation of a spacious Cheshire bungalow. Ian Scott is a seasoned decorator with 42 years of experience, recommended for this project by an interior designer, underlining the trust and respect Ian has earned in his three decades of self-employment.

Rebecca from Carnival Interiors, had a distinctive and bold design vision for the bungalow. Ian embraced this vision, incorporating a variety of high-quality paints, including Zinsser, Little Greene, Farrow & Ball, and Valspar—meticulously chosen to bring Rebecca’s vision to life.

Ian’s expertise was evident in the meticulous techniques applied throughout the project. Walls were cross-lined for a flawless surface, and premium wallpapers from Osborne and Little and Little Greene added texture and depth to the interiors. An intricate Lincrusta frieze was meticulously hand-trimmed for seamless integration on skirting boards.

To address specific challenges, such as protecting kitchen tiles during ceiling work, Ian demonstrated problem-solving skills. The strategic use of Proplex and boarding ensured the protection of the delicate tiles. Collaboration and adaptability were key, especially when utilizing a tower in confined spaces.

Rebecca from Carnival Interiors expressed her admiration for Ian’s work, emphasizing, “Ian has a real attention to detail. I loved how much care he put into his work and into looking after my home. Nothing was too much trouble, and, to top it off, he’s a lovely man.” Rebecca’s dogs even found a friend in Ian, who was “super kind to my three dogs, who visited him every lunchtime for a bite of his butties!”

For those in the trade decorator community, Ian Scott Decorating Services’ success in this project is a testament to his technical prowess, adaptability, and collaborative spirit. This collaboration with Carnival Interiors has further solidified Ian’s reputation as a skilled decorator within the industry.
