Discussion: Recheal Valderama, Mates in Mind Support Manager, will be discussing ‘Making mental health in the workplace a priority’.

A little on what Recheal will be discussing:

We know that sometimes it can be difficult to know how to take action to prevent suicide. Knowing where to start, or what to say can seem daunting or confusing.

But Mates in Mind can support you to begin those important conversations and make a change. It doesn’t matter when or why your organisation is taking action to prevent suicide, we are here to support you with the tools and resources you need to create a culture of prevention.

This session will cover why we need to take action in the workplace, what signs to be aware of and how you can take action and create lasting change within your workplace today.

About Mates in Mind:

Mates in Mind is a leading UK charity raising awareness, addressing the stigma of poor mental health and promoting positive mental wellbeing across workplaces. We help to make sense of available options and support employers to address mental health within their workplace. Mates in Mind works across industries, focusing on construction, as well as related sectors including transport, logistics, manufacturing and others. Together we can be the change needed to improve workplace mental health.

About World Mental Health Day:

World Mental Health Day is an annual awareness day on the 10th October aiming to bring together a global community, with a unifying voice to help people feel hopeful by empowering them to take action and create lasting change. At Mates in Mind, we use this day as an opportunity to help organisations and individuals start the conversation about mental ill health and by dismantling the stigma and encouraging help seeking behaviours.
