A fast-growing decorating and DIY specialist will hit the big 3-0 next month.
Leyland SDM will open its 30th store on June 1 when it takes the wraps off its new Clapham Junction outlet.
The new store will be based at 129 St John’s Hill (SW11 1TD) and will add to the company’s presence in Clapham with an existing shop already situated on the High Street.
Customers will be given a special 10 per discount off all purchases during the opening week of trading from June 1.
Jonathan Jennings, Chief Executive of Leyland SDM, said: “Opening our 30th store is a notable landmark for the business and we are delighted to be doing so at Clapham Junction.
“It’s in a fantastic location and will be great news for both trade professionals and people carrying out DIY jobs in their homes.
“The home improvement boom which began during lockdown shows no sign of slowing down so we are confident of a high level of interest in our new store.
“Everyone visiting can benefit from the expert DIY knowledge of our colleagues and first-class service, including home delivery if required.
“This is our ninth store opening in the last two years which shows the ambitious plans we have for the business.
“We have now got a strong presence across many areas of London and the plans are to continue the expansion so we will be seeking new opportunities for store openings so we can continue to serve trade professionals and home renovators in the capital.”
The new store will be officially opened by Mayor Elect for Wandsworth, Councillor Richard Field.
The opening day of trading will also see a cheque in excess of £37,000 presented to representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support, Leyland SDM’s nominated charity.
The money was raised during the company’s ‘March is for Macmillan’ initiative which saw customers invited to add donations from £1 to their overall shopping bill as a donation to the charity.
Paul Gerreli, Marketing Director at Leyland SDM, said: “We are thrilled with the amount we have managed to raise and would send a huge thanks for the support we have received from customers.
“Macmillan is facing an expected loss of £175m in fundraised income in the next two years because of the coronavirus pandemic so any support we can provide will be well appreciated.
“It is absolutely vital we continue to support Macmillan so that they can carry on delivering first-class services for those with cancer, both now and in the future.”
The store will be open seven days a week and will offer all the services Leyland SDM is known for, including in-store paint colour mixing.
Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY brands in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city.
The stores stock a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment and ironmongery.
