DULUX TRADE VINYL MATT: A TESTED & APPROVED, MORE SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION

Advertorial

Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt has been reformulated to enhance its sustainability benefits, whilst maintaining the same opacity, coverage and easy application that the previous formula was known for. The new and improved Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt is 99.9% VOC (volatile organic compound) free and has been Tested & Approved by professional decorators for added reassurance of its quality.

According to research, 71% of professional decorators said their clients now regularly request sustainable paint options[1]. To help meet this demand, Dulux Trade has reformulated its popular Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt so it offers the opacity and coverage that customers expect but with enhanced sustainability credentials too.

Peter Howard, Sustainability & CSR Lead at AkzoNobel, said: “We’re working hard to reduce our impact on the environment and to develop products and initiatives that make it easier for our customers to reduce theirs, too. Through making Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt 99.9% VOC (volatile organic compound) free[2], we have ensured that it has a reduced impact on indoor air quality and a lower carbon footprint when compared with the previous formulation. This helps decorators meet their customers’ growing demand for more sustainable solutions – and, thanks to its retained qualities, deliver an outstanding finish too.”

Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt is also compliant with green building accreditations BREEAM[3] and LEED[4]. Although BREEAM and LEED are generally demanded on larger projects, this demonstrates to any customer that Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt contains the latest and more sustainable technology.

As part of the upgrade, Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt has also achieved the Dulux Trade Tested & Approved seal of approval. This means that it has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it lives up to decorators’ expectations and genuinely delivers on the benefits promised. As well as laboratory testing, Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt has also been reviewed by professional decorators in three stages:

  1. Assessments by a member of the internal Dulux panel of professional decorators – which is a blind test
  2. Assessments by a panel of external professional decorators – which is also a blind test
  3. Field trials that put the product to the test under external conditions
