Trade Decorator LIVE – The UK’s two-day pop-up Painting & Decorating show is coming to Old Trafford Football Stadium, Manchester on the 10th & 11th September…
Here is a Q & A with Paula McIntosh Managing Director of the Trade Decorator Brand – to find out why Trade Decorator LIVE is a must- attend event for professional painters and decorators in the UK.
Q Why did you decide to launch Trade Decorator LIVE?
Paula: In 2017 we launched www.trade-decorator.co.uk the UK’s First interactive news and review based website for professional decorators. We have developed a strong following of professional Painters & Decorators in the UK across all our social media platforms and have successfully launched our own Trade Decorator forum on Facebook. The ethos behind Trade decorator is about raising the standards in the painting & decorating industry and celebrating the skills in the industry. The success of Trade Decorator is down to the strong support we have received from both Manufacturers and decorators alike who dominate our social media platforms and community. With Trade Decorator LIVE we want to bring the “social media effect” to a live environment to demonstrate and celebrate all that is good in this industry.
Q Why should decorators take time off the tools to visit?
Paula: We know that time is important for professional Painters and Decorators. Many are self-employed and work all hours of the day, so we have put on an event that will boost their business and is also a good day out.
2020 sees the launch of the Trade Decorator LIVE exhibition and we are going all out to ensure this is an event you will feel was worth attending and ensure it is firmly planned in your calendars as an event not to be missed for years to come.
Q What can visitors expect to see and do at Trade Decorator LIVE?
Paula: The exhibition will feature many of the UK’s key manufacturers in our “Trade Zone” the place where visitors will be able to do business and find out about new products, test out all the latest products, take part in challenges and competitions, get access to show only offers on trade essentials and load up your vans for less!
Visit our decorator demonstrations in our Masterclass area with many faces you will recognise from social media, showing how they get the best results with the industry’s biggest brands.
In addition to this, are their elements of your business where you feel you would benefit from professional advice? Our seminars will be led by experts in Estimating & Financial management, Social media for business, Best practice for websites, How to get the most out of google advertising, and more…
Pre-register on our Trade Decorator LIVE Exhibition website for your chance of VIP access and a FREE lunch. We will be offering a number of FREE training opportunities in our Training Zone for upskilling which include Spray painting, Timber repair, fine finishing using abrasives and dustless sanding & Venetian Plaster application.
Come and enjoy a great day out with their fellow decorators. It really is worth the trip!
Q Why are our Industry Supporters CITB, BuildSkills & WorldSkills UK so important?
Paula: We are delighted to have the support of CITB, BuildSkills & WorldSkills UK on this event. CITB’s key objectives are supporting industry through careers by improving the image of and access to construction careers, improving the Standards & Qualifications by raising standards in the industry and through Training & Development by enabling employers and individuals to participate in training, leading to an increase in the qualified workforce in the painting and decorating sector. This mirrors our ethos behind the Trade Decorator LIVE event of raising the standards in the painting & decorating sector and celebrating the skills in our industry.
SkillBuild, delivered by CITB, is the largest multi-trade competition in the UK for construction trainees and apprentices. It the biggest and longest-running domestic construction competition but it’s reach and impact extend internationally via CITB’s close partnership with WorldSkills UK.
The competition’s core aim is to showcase the appeal, attraction and attributes of construction, as a vibrant and viable career. CITB looks constantly to improve the quality of delivery, the quality of competitors and the benefits to prospective industry recruits and their eventual employers. This includes diversifying our competition venues outside of a purely further education footprint, to ensure wider accessibility and contact, and developing relationships with industry, with Crown, for example, who are a long-term sponsor of the SkillBuild competitions.
Andy Houghton of SkillBuild said ‘The Trade Decorator LIVE event presents an ideal opportunity for CITB and SkillBuild to widen understanding of our competition and to engage directly with the industry we represent.’
With the inclusion of the SkillBuild competition and WorldSkills UK which works with partners across education, industry and governments to ensure that more young people are trained to world-class standards, helping them get the best start in work and life we feel we have chosen the perfect industry supporters to help us to deliver an event that the Painting & Decorating sector really want.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Manchester at Old Trafford Football Stadium on the 22nd & 23rd June when we open the doors.
