A leading decorating and DIY specialist has brought some Christmas cheer to tradespeople and home improvers in Bayswater by opening a new store in the area.
Rapidly expanding Leyland SDM opened its 32nd store when it cut the ribbon on its Bayswater premises on Monday (December 6) – it’s eighth new store of 2021.
The new store is based at 96 Bishop’s Bridge Road, London W2 5AA and provides a welcome boost to the local economy.
Customers who visited on opening day had to double-take as they found a Mariah Carey tribute act belting out Christmas classics – including the timeless All I Want for Christmas Is You – outside the store.
And there was plenty more festive fun to mark the opening, including a giant advent calendar with surprise prizes for the first 32 customers to spend over £50.
The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Andrew Smith, was present to help perform the official opening, along with Leyland SDM Chief Executive Jonathan Jennings and store manager Vlad Pirvu.
Jonathan said: “We are delighted to open our new Bayswater store, which will be a huge boost for both trade professionals and people carrying out DIY jobs in their homes.
“The opening of Bayswater concludes a phenomenal year of growth for Leyland SDM. This store is in a fantastic location and we are confident of a high level of interest.
“An unprecedented number of people have embarked on home improvement projects since the start of the pandemic – and we’ve been with them to help every step of the way.
“Everyone visiting Bayswater can benefit from the expert DIY knowledge of our colleagues and first-class service, including home delivery if required.”
Bayswater follows on from the opening of new stores in Acton, Tooting, Cricklewood, Fulham North, Greenford, Clapham Junction and Dulwich already this year.
Customers will be given a special 10 per cent discount off all purchases during the opening week of trading.
The store has created new local jobs, forming part of a wider recruitment campaign with more than 50 vacancies currently available across all London stores.
The Bayswater store stocks a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment, ironmongery and much more, all under one roof.
Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY companies in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city.
Some of the biggest and best-known DIY brands are available at Leyland SDM, including Farrow & Ball, Tesa, Bahco, Bosch, Purdy, Dulux Trade, Leyland Trade, Stanley, Ronseal and DEWALT.
