Crown Paints has been awarded the first ever Race to Net Zero prize at the British Coatings Federation Awards 2023.
The paint manufacturer, which is part of Hempel, a global coatings company whose purpose is to shape a brighter future with sustainable coating solutions, impressed judges with its industry-leading commitment to creating a sustainable built environment.
Introduced this year, the Race to Net Zero Award recognises outstanding contribution to achieving the coating industry’s overall pledge to reach Net Zero by 2050.
Winning the prize, Crown demonstrated how it’s reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its entire network, providing a best practice standard for the rest of the industry.
The business has set ambitious goals to be carbon neutral in its operations by 2025 and shown significant progress in reducing emissions across its entire supply chain – from manufacturing and delivery to new product innovations that are kinder to the planet, without compromising on quality.
The brand also achieved highly commended in the CSR category – demonstrating its commitment to creating a positive difference to people and the planet.
